TrakNet's live fleet tracking is backed by Traccar. GPS devices fitted to the vans report their live positions into the Live Tracking area of TrakNet, where operators watch the fleet in real time, review site attendance, and pull compliance and SLA reports.
This guide covers the live map (vehicles, guards, and keys), device commands, geofences and site attendance, patrols, dispatch and alerts, the reporting tools, fleet compliance reminders, the weekly SLA reports, and public vehicle live-share links (including managing them). Setup and one-time prerequisites are summarised at the end — see the Go-Live Checklist for the full steps.
The map shows every vehicle's live position. For each vehicle you can see its online / parked state, current speed, resolved address, and signal. Select a vehicle to open its detail panel, which carries these actions:

The Commands action lists whatever functions that specific device supports and lets you send one with a tap. The list is pulled live from the device itself, so it varies by hardware — a dash-cam unit offers video/intercom commands, a simple tracker may only offer a couple of alarms. Example commands seen on a typical dash-cam device:

Create circular geofences around client sites. A geofence can optionally be assigned to specific vehicles, or left applying to all. Each geofence can also be linked to a client.
Vehicle enter and exit events are logged automatically. That log is what powers:
Where: Live Tracking → map toolbar → the fold-out map icon (last icon in the panels & reports cluster, just after the chain-link icon and before the vehicle/guard/key layer toggles). The panel opens below the map.
One place to manage every geofenced site:
{ name, lat, lng, radius_meters }. Imports are idempotent by site name: existing names are skipped, never overwritten, so re-running an import cannot damage fences you have edited.The map toolbar (line icons on the right edge of the map on desktop; a strip along the top of the map on a phone) is grouped into three clusters — map controls (refresh, fit all, satellite/street, geofence circles, draw fence), panels & reports, and layer toggles. Hover any icon for its name. The panels & reports cluster:

Alerts fire automatically for the following:

Three toggle buttons on the toolbar control what's plotted on the single live map:

For client-facing weekly summaries, use the SLA reports below rather than these operational tools.
Set a vehicle's MOT due, tax due, and service due dates from its detail panel — Edit → Service & Expiry → Compliance Reminders. Leaving a field blank clears that reminder.
The Compliance toolbar button opens a fleet-wide table of every tracked date, with a status per row:

Anything overdue or due soon also appears automatically in the map's Alerts feed, so it's visible without opening the Compliance panel.
A branded PDF is produced for each client, summarising every recorded site visit over the last 7 days. Each report covers:

Reports are auto-emailed every Monday at 07:00 to the client's email address on file.
The Live link button on a vehicle's detail panel creates a public, read-only live-tracking link to send to a client.
The client opens the link in any browser with no login and sees a live map of that one vehicle only — its name, speed, online / parked status, address, and heading.
Managing existing links NEW — the Live-Share Links toolbar button lists every active link (vehicle, expiry date, when it was last viewed) with a one-click Revoke per link. Use it to kill a link immediately — e.g. if it was sent to the wrong person, or the client no longer needs it.
